Portability: Many solar generators are designed to be portable, allowing you to take power with you for camping trips or outdoor activities.
Choosing the Right Solar Generator
When selecting a solar generator for your home, consider the following factors:
Power Requirements: Assess your household's energy needs by evaluating the appliances and devices you intend to power.
Capacity: Look for generators with sufficient battery capacity to provide the necessary power for your usage.
Inverter Type: Choose between pure sine wave and modified sine wave inverters based on the devices you plan to use.
Portability: If you need a generator for occasional outdoor use, ensure it is lightweight and easy to transport.
Solar Panels and Accessories
To maximize the efficiency of your solar generator, consider investing in additional solar panels or accessories. This can enhance its capacity and charging speed, making it a more versatile solution for your energy needs.
In summary, a solar generator for home purposes is not only beneficial for reducing electricity bills but also plays a critical role in promoting sustainable energy. Etiquette of the Edwardian Era and La Belle Époque: How to Dress
Tumblr media
This is a new set of posts focusing on the period of time stretching from the late 19th century to the early 20th Century right up to the start of WWI.
I'll be going through different aspects of life. This series can be linked to my Great House series as well as my Season post and Debutant post.
Today will be focusing on the rules of clothes with this time period.
A Cut for Every Occasion
Tumblr media
As you may know, the wealthy elite and their servants lived extremely regimented lives and every aspect was governed by careful rules. They would be expected to wear the right outfit at the right time, every minute of the day. Any misstep would be noticed at once and be subject to scruntiny.
In the circles of the elite, one would be expected to change for every occasion. One simply wouldn't wear the same outfit they've been lying around the house in to attend tea at somebody's house. Fashion in this era was dictated by the clock and by the event diary of the wearer.
Ladies
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Women of the upperclass would be expected to change at least six times a day. When she would rise for a morning of repose around the house, she would simply wear a house gown or a simple blouse and skirt. If planning a morning stroll, she would change into a walking suit which is a combination of blouse, skirt and jacket along with her hat usually of tweed. If running errands or paying a visit to friends, she would wear another walking suit. If riding, she would wear a riding habit and a hat. If hosting tea or taking tea in her own home, she would change into a tea gown with is a lighter more airier gown more comfortable for chilling in. If attending a garden party, one wears a pastel or white formal day gown accompanied by a straw hat and gloves. For dinner, she would change into an evening gown which would be more elaborate and show off a little more skin than her day wear. After dinner and ready for bed, she would change into her nightgown.
Female servants had an easier time of it. A housekeeper and lady's maid would simply wear a solid black gown for the entire day. A cook and kitchen maids would wear a simple day dress for working with an apron. Housemaids would usually wear a print dress with an apron and cap, changing into the more formal black and white attire you would associate with a maid.
Gentlemen
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The gentlemen had an easier time but they too were subject to changes throughout the day. Men were expected to wear a suit. The most popular day time suit was a sack suit. These were comprised of plain and loose fitting jackets, worn over a starched shirt with a high collar, waistcoat and straight trousers with ironed creases. These suits were exclusively wool with cheaper ones made of a wool and cotton blend. Grey, green, brown, navy were usual but sine younger men preferred louder colours such as purple which was a trend for a time in the 1910s. These suits were worn about the house or in the city accompanied by a coat. Men would change into tweed if shooting or walking. For garden parties, a gentleman would wear a light coloured suit, usually white and a straw hat. For dinner, a man had two choices: his tails or his dinner jacket. A dinner jacket was for less formal suppers say if dining at home. This was a collection of a jacket, trousers, waistcoat, a bow tie, a detachable wing-collar shirt and black shoes. Lapels of these jackets were edged with silk or satin. Tails were worn at a formal dinner party, at White Tie events. This was made up of a tailcoat, white piqué waistcoat, a starched dress shirt with a pique bib and standing wing collar with a white bow tie. Trousers were lined with trim to hide the seams.
Male servants were soared changing. Footmen would wear their livery around the clock which would resemble white tie to a certain extent or mimic court dress of palace servants. Butler's would wear a variation of a gentleman's evening suit throughout the day. When a male servant is dressed, he usually stays that way. However, a valet or a footman may be taken to pick up during shooting parties where they would wear tweed walking suits.
Jewellery
Tumblr media
Jewellery was an important sign of status in society. Upperclass women of this time has access to untold caches of sparklers but there were rules concerning their use and meaning. Earrings were usually clip ons as women of high status would not pierce their ears. Simple, understated earrings were worn during the day with more ostentatious sets were worn in the evening time. Broaches were popular at this time, usually worn at the throat of a gown or blouse or walking suit or affixed on hats. Large stoned rings were worn over gloves while slender bands were worn under. Jewellery was intricate and understated amongst old money whole the nouveau riche went for chunkier stones and larger settings. Tiaras were only worn at White Tie events, held after six pm and almost never by unmarried girls. One would not wear a larger tiara than that most senior lady present. Men would wear tie pins, cufflinks and pocket watches to match any occasion be it for a jaunt on the town or at a formal evening party.
Hats
Tumblr media
Hats were a staple in this period. Anybody respectable from any class wouldn't venture out of the door without a hat.
Men would wear hats when heading out but always remove them when entering a building, and never wear one without removing it for the presence of a lady. The bowler was seen as more a servant's headwear while a top hat was reserved for gentlemen. Flat caps would be only seen on gentlemen at shooting gatherings or in the country, they were popular among the common class for any informal occasion.
Women had more stricter rules concern hats. Hats for women were more a day accessory worn while out and about. A woman would not wear a hat in her own home even when entertaining and nor would any of the other female occupants if joining the gathering. A woman would not remove her hat when attending a luncheon or tea or any activity. Hats were held in place by a ribbon or sash tied under the chin or by a hat pin, which is essentially a large needle thrust through the hair. This was the period where women's hats became more ornate and rather large, leading to some critisism. Among servants, housekeepers and lady's maids would not wear a hat while indoors and working but a housemaid or cook or kitchen maid would cover their hair with a cap with housemaids changing into a more elaborate one come evening time. Male servants would not wear hats unless travelling or outdoors.
Gloves
Tumblr media
Gloves are a staple in this period and worn only at the opportune time. Among servants, only footmen would wear gloves and usually only when serving. Butlers would never wear gloves. Female servants did not wear gloves.
Men did wear gloves, usually woollen or leather while outside or riding gloves when out on horseback.
Women wore gloves whenever outside. Day gloves were usually wrist length, with evening gloves stretching to the elbow. During dinner, evening gloves would be removed at the first course and laid across the lap, replaced at the last course when the ladies leave for tea and coffee after where the gloves are then removed again. Gloves are always worn when dancing and at the theatre or opera. If one is sitting in ones box and sampling some chocolate, one can remove their gloves for that.
Hair and Makeup
Tumblr media
Make up was a no-no amongst the upper crust and for their servants in England and America, as it was seen as licentious but in France, the use of rouge was accepted. Perfume and cologne were acceptable but excessive use was frowned upon.
Hair was dressed by one's lady's maid. Bouffant updos were popular in this time period for married women. During the last years of this period, women began adopting the 'bob' but this was seen as radical and sometimes scandalous. Unmarried girls could wear their hair down, often with accessories like a bow to adorn their tresses. Servants would always tie up their hair and never be seen with it down or uncovered (though this depended on their job).
Men would comb their hair, slicking it back for dinner. Most men were clean shaven but if they wore beards, they were usually well groomed. Hair was kept short for grown men and teenagers but young boys may wear their hair longer whilst in the nursery.

ngl I think throwing around words like nazi where they don't fit is actually harmful.
generally speaking people on the internet use all of these words (gaslighting, pedophile, grooming, racism, etc etc) for things that are not actually that... which in turn makes those words weak in some aspects.
anyway.
white swifties will see taylor with a nazi and be like:
guys she did nothing wrong. love is love 😍🥰

could you make a reading on "what your stray kids bias says about you?", if it's not too much to ask? 🥺 your ateez one was rly accurate!!!
What Does Your Bias In Stray Kids Say About You
Bangchan
I know a lot wants me to say that "it's because you have daddy issues" but hey, yes and no? some of you just went through very poor interactions when children and lack of something in that aspect which lead to poverty in love and inner self
also you guys are like him, workaholics and always trying hard to prove your point on things, projecting a lot on Chan like a role model

Minho
most of you like to travel, like nature, the beauty of the landscapes. you always try to reach accomplishment in everything you do, because Minho is like a motivation that you see yourself in, someone that represents hard work, something you want to reach
also a lot of you is just anxious kids, some of you struggle so much with mental health, depression, insomias, anxiety disorders. you find Minho reliable and confronting during those times

Changbin
He represents everything for you, not only because he can be an ideal self and a comforting figure but because most o you go a lot through inner conflicts, you doubt yourself, you sometimes hate yourself and you find that Changbin helps you learn about loving now self and being a better person
Hyunjin
You like him because he is a very family guy and he represents the morals and the values that you hold very dear as well. mos to you are family-driven people, that want to have kids, marry, etc. also some of you might be religious or believers
some of you have a very strong manifestation and feel somehow connected to Hyunjin (delulu alert)
Also just like him, you have a head on the clouds, you are easily distracted by things, you forget things easily and you lack direction. if you don't have people nagging you or pushing you you are unable to do things by yourself
a lot of you are also very undependable just like him and enjoy your own freedom while others are social butterflies and just match his social skills and energy
Han
Okay first thing is, most of you are sexy people, very feminine people
other than that, you mirror Han in a way, of being very co-dependable on people you love and care, as like without them you feel lost and without direction. you need them to live your life because your head is like Han's just free of issues and chaotic
also it feels like many of you avoid taking decisions, and avoid things that hurt, like him you withdrawal easily from things an that because you have a way too ùany difficulties on making decisions, you prefer others to do it for yourself
also a lot of you are also very loud people sine you mirror than a lot, you like talking and laughing loudly, you like showing happiness and jo and also are helpless romantics
Felix
Okay so you guys are also big delulus, and mostly you are helpless romantics and Felix's idol image represents everything you are seeking in a partner, someone nice and gentle, soft, deep voice that can take care of you. that's what you want, what you like. you have very high standards of love
but also Felix represents everything you have wished to be, someone that everyone likes, someone that is appreciated and talented. he helps you self develop in your own way and because of that you feel connected to him
Seungmin
You like him because just like Seungmin you feel like a cast ou in life. most of you have a lot of issues with your emotions, you represent them a lot and often feel disconnected from them; Seungmin is a way of comfort like a puppy that you need whenever your emotions don't make sense. a lot of trauma happened to you as well
some of you have dealt with very problematic and toxic relationships, either love, friendship, or family, and again, for you Seung-min is a reminder that you aren't alone int his world
Jeongin:
You don't really know why you are attracted to Jeongin, there isn't an explanation for it either, because in a way you feel it's wrong to be attracted to him (especially if you are older than him) and he also makes you question all of your values. that because most of you are in total disharmony between what you want and what you have learned to be wanting. he represents the misalignment of values that you fight against

it’s been a while since a tarry ask so let me be the one to bring them back to life🗣️
can you please give us hcs of them feeling jealousy/insecurity over other people flirting with their man😋
tarry pops up onve every blue moon on this blog honestly, shout out to tarry
•bc theyre busy guys and intimidating, ppl hitting on either of em is pretty rare, theyre more so admired from afar, which means when the other is being hit on, its a LITTLE funny to see, they look pretty calm, but on the inside they r wondering what the hell to do and or want it to end immediately, they dont take it THAT seriously
•i dont think jealousy is something these two rlly face over each other, in their eyes they r relatively grown ass men, they think jealousy only messes things up and r able to understand that when it comes to the other they dont just fall in love w someone on their first time seeing em, so jealousy??? not much of a problem here
•i think it would mainly b tim who feels a type of way over darry being hit on, i do still see tim as a hidden territorial guy and darry hasnt been in a relationship since hs, he doesnt take “typical relationship things” to heart like others would
•this isnt to say they feel NO bad feelings about seeing it happen btw, its just not JEALOUSY!! tim feels a small sense of possessiveness and darry feels insecure relationship wise
•stated before, darry hasnt been in a relationship sine he was in hs, as a result hes pretty stunted in that aspect for his age, so seeing tim getting hit on, darrys thinking “well shit”, hes not jealous they have more experience than him, he accepts that they do and he doesnt do much to stop it or fix it
•funny thing is, darry def gets the person to back off just by standing there, he unknowingly glares at ppl when he stares and hes a big guy, if tim doesnt shoo u away while ur hitting on him, one look from darry sure will
•tim thinks its entertaining and sometimes purposely doesnt show anyone whos hitting in him any attention just to see it happen, darry thinks its so stupid
•as for tims possessiveness, hes still not gonna lose his sense of self, hes not randomly beating someone up, hes just passive aggressive till they get the point, but if they get out of line THATS when he’d get all upset
•darry caught on of this happening and always tells the person that they should go and not hit on him, yes bc hes not interested but also bc he doesnt feel like dealing w tim after a fight (hes a tired man) and he just doesnt want anyone hurt
•im not putting it above tim to NOT leave at least some hickies or whatever on darry, when they leave and r alone, tim isnt a heathen and doesnt make them OBVIOUS, darry can hide em oretty easily, its literally just for darry and him anyways

Okay, you know how you say that Austen and Gaskell are seen as similar because they both have a similar approach to virtue running through their works? Would you say the same applies to Anne Bronte (the sister I've seen argued to be closest to Austen)? Or is the similarity between them just that they both aim for realism over melodrama and the deeper similarities aren't there? (I haven't read Anne Bronte in years, but the question just came to me and I figured maybe you'd have something to say about it.)
Hi!
This is actually something I have thought about a lot! But I don't have a conclusive answer as of yet.
Anne Brontë seems to be mostly... on a lane of her own? While -or-because she shares things with Austen and Gaskell and her sisters too.
If there's a link between Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, and Tenant, it is the importance of mercy and forgiveness. In Jane Eyre it is the necessity and heroism of radical forgiveness -redemption depends pretty much exclusively on God's power to touch the person and change them. In Wuthering Heights you get the picture of life without mercy or forgiveness, and the intensity of misery and destruction it causes; mercy, forgiveness and metanoia are seen vaguely as anything from personal choice to natural development (I don't think Emily is interested in that part, really).
In Tenant these are more to the background, but ultimately necessary. Helen must be forgiven and forgive herself for her bad choice of a husband, Gilbert must be forgiven his youthful pride, anger, and player attitude, in order for there to be a happy ending to the story. But in both cases atonement must happen as a conditio sine qua non to forgiveness. Only God forgives unconditionally, without repentance or atonement; Anne's universalism comes across strongly like this in Arthur's protracted agony. Not even Arthur will be damned, even if it means his spending till the end of time suffering purification.
It is these two things, I think, that approximate her to, and distance her from, Austen and Gaskell. Anne Brontë is concerned with morality in the sense of making good and bad behavior a very important part of her narratives, which is something Charlotte and Emily Brontë are not interested in much, but that is very important to Austen. How each approaches this issue is different, however. Austen builds an ideal of the gentleman/gentlewoman as accomplished forms of humanity, acquired through virtues, and the moral narratives of her stories are explorations of what those virtues mean (sense, constancy, generosity, patience, etc). Anne Brontë, to me, seems more interested in the circumstances that favor or hinder goodness. For her a life of work, a life of connection with the land, are extremely influential factors in a person's inclination to goodness and ability to reform. That's what sets Hattersley apart from a guy like Grimsby. Austen might share some of the idea that London and Bath are corrupting places (notoriously in Mansfield Park) as a general thing, but their relevance to the moral make-up of people is not that significant.
Religion is more explicitly important to Anne that it is for Austen, and in that way she's closer to Gaskell, and both are also universalists, but I feel Gaskell is more agnostic about it. Where Anne is positively convinced that all will be saved one way or another, Gaskell tends to evade the issue to focus more on what a person's religious beliefs do to their moral worldview, and in that way her moral preoccupations are highlighted in this aspect too. Because of this also is that I feel Gaskell has a richer perspective of the communities and the relationships that conform them; Anne tends to have a more atomized perspective, closer to Charlotte and Emily's (this difference likely defined by their respective upbringings and life experiences).
These would be the reasons why I'd ultimately exclude Anne from the tradition-thread I think there is between Austen and Gaskell (emphasis on virtues as framework for ethics and morality, centrality of friendship) but she's also... not that significantly far off? Certainly her good characters are virtuous characters, but I don't think that is the way she understands them. Gilbert's friendships with Helen and Eliza are relevant to the plot and influential to his character, but they seem to exist as preambula to romantic relationships, and other friendships that are present in the text are much more loosely conceived (one wouldn't think of Frederick and Gilbert or even Helen and Milicent as friends in the way Darcy and Bingley or Wentworth and Benwick are).
Ultimately to me it is a case of "sort of there, but not quite". However, as I said at the beginning, I'm not fully convinced, and I welcome argument one way or another wholeheartedly.
P.S.: I do agree that Anne's prose feels close to Austen by its trim-ness (something Gaskell doesn't possess; she's definitely more florid and closer to Charlotte Brontë that way) and that her characters are built in a similarly typical way (they are traced in a sort of impressionist way as types, but closer inspection reveals greater nuance).

At 2:27 p.m. on Friday, March 8, the Florida Legislature adjourned sine die. With this adjournment, 21 of 22 anti-LGBTQ+ bills were effectively killed, leaving an anti-diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in education bill as the lone piece of legislation to pass this session. This session featured some of the most severe bills ever proposed against transgender individuals, all of these bills are now officially dead. LGBTQ+ activists in the state now have the rest of 2024 to regroup, with hopes that the November general election will yield results against a legislature that has spent two years targeting transgender individuals in every aspect of life.
The bills that have failed include H599, a bill that would have expanded "Don't Say Gay" policies to the workplace. It proposed banning government employees and any business with government contracts from sharing pronouns. Furthermore, it aimed to prohibit all nonprofits in the state from requiring education and training on LGBTQ+ issues—a significant issue for LGBTQ+ nonprofits, which would have been unable to operate within the state. That bill is now dead.
Another bill that died is H1639, a measure that would have mandated transgender individuals to have driver's license sex markers matching their sex assigned at birth. It also aimed to penalize insurance providers offering gender-affirming care coverage and would have required health insurance plans to cover conversion therapy for transgender individuals. Although this bill did not pass, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles has reinterpreted certain provisions that already exist, effectively banning changes to driver's license gender markers in the state and threatening individuals with accurate markers with charges of criminal fraud. However, challenging an administrative action is simpler than challenging a law enacted by the legislature, and such actions can also be reversed by future administrations.
Further bills that made headlines which died include:
A ban on Pride flags in schools and government buildings.
A “bill of rights” for student organizations to exclude transgender people.
A bill that would end legal recognition of trans people in the state.
A bill that would exempt rejection of transgender youth from child abuse provisions.
A bill that would make calling someone racist, sexist, homophobic, or transphobic be treated as defamation.
In a press release from the Human Rights Campaign, Geoff Wetrosky stated, “Despite years of relentless attacks and dehumanizing rhetoric, LGBTQ+ people and our allies have never given up the fight for Florida. And we are shifting the momentum. People across the state showed up by the thousands to speak out and push back against anti-LGBTQ+ bills; and they are to thank for pushing back the tide of hateful and discriminatory policy. The fight to free Florida from the grip of Governor DeSantis’ devastating and extreme agenda of government censorship and intrusion into people’s lives is far from over. And the devastation he and his allies have caused will last long after these politicians are gone. But the tide is turning. Perhaps the anti-LGBTQ+ fever in Tallahassee is beginning to break. The people will prevail.”
Not every bill was defeated in the state, which still has some of the harshest anti-transgender laws in the nation. The one bill that did pass, House Bill 1291, prohibits educating teachers on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) topics and bars "teaching identity politics." Additionally, transgender drivers still face the potential revocation of driver's licenses by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV), and many transgender adults have lost access to gender-affirming care. The state also enforces a criminal bathroom ban that could jail transgender individuals for up to a year.
However, this is the first time in three years where the bills targeting LGBTQ+ people, and trans people in particular, seem to be losing steam, according to local organizers.
“The momentum is undeniably shifting against extremism,” Nadine Smith of Equality Florida said in a press release, “Extremist groups are collapsing amidst multiple scandals. Parents are mobilizing on behalf of their kids and to stop the dismantling of public education. We will build on this momentum and redouble our commitment to the fight. Together, we can put power back in the hands of the people.”

The Yogic Yang Spiral Meditation
The aim of the yang spiral meditation is to bring into awareness of the participants the presence of Cosmic Consciousness and to be part of the worldwide efforts of raising the consciousness of the planet and of entering into a superior stage of evolution of humankind.
The Yin-Yang Concept
Everything that exists in the Universe is polarized, i.e., formed of yang-solar (+) and yin-lunar (-).
The presence of these complementarily opposed counterparts creates a tension. From this tension, Life is born. For maintaining the tension (therefore, life), one of the poles must predominate. This predominance leads to movement, change, transformation.
The two poles of the manifestation are contained in a tremendously big circle that keeps them together (in the above drawing, the exterior circle should be extremely big, but considerations of space makes this unpractical in this material). This symbolizes the existence of a Transcendental Principle that controls and dominates from a higher level. Only in this way Creation is possible. If the Transcendent Principle wouldn’t compel the two poles to stay together, they would return into Unity, Invisibility, Non-manifestation.
Each polarity contains, in seed, its opposite, which means that everything is relative. Everything, in some deep, mysterious way, is his opposite. Every moment of life includes, somehow, qualities diametrically opposed to those apparently implied. It is well known the truth of the original androgyny (having male and female characteristics in one) of the human being. By virtue of this, the balance between male (+) and female (-) hormones, condition sine-qua-non of life, is possible in all humans irrespective of sex.
Man is predominantly Solar; his seed (the semen) is Lunar (-). Woman is predominantly Lunar (-); her seed (the ova) is Solar (+). Thus, tai-ki is a perfect symbolic synthesis of Universe and Man, defining in a masterly manner the essence of Yoga Science. The representation of the two poles, the Solar (+) and the Lunar (-), as being equal is an idealistic point of view. A perfect balance leads to absence of tension, hence non-manifestation. In the manifested worlds, there always is and must be a predominant pole. The state of power appears when the two poles are very close to a perfect balance. A strong lack of balance between them results in weakness, suffering, illness, lack of self-control and lack of power.
Another important aspect is that yang is centripetal (it proceeds toward a center or axis) and moves in energy vortexes that turn counterclockwise, while yin is centrifugal (it proceeds away from a center or axis) and moves in energy vortexes that turn clockwise. Yang is the principle of order, structure, decrease of entropy. Yin is the principle of chaos, lack of structure, increase of entropy.
The spiral is charged with multiple symbolic meanings. Many of these meanings include the dynamic interaction between yin and yang.
The yang-spiral expresses the luminous, solar, dynamic and optimistic energy. When moving along the arm of this spiral in a counterclockwise sense, it is just natural to reach the center, which represents the Source of Creation from which everything that exists started and to which it will return.
The yang-spiral thus represents the circular centripetal movement of returning to the Center. The yang-spiral is related to the movement of spiritual evolution leading to liberation from the cycle of reincarnations, while the yin-spiral is related to the movement of involution and chaining to the reincarnation wheel, since it gets further away from the Center.
The spiral is often seen in nature: the snail shell is a well known example. The symbolism of the spiral is scientifically funded by the mathematical theory of the logarithmic spiral and of the Golden Number, or Fibonacci series. This Golden Number was discovered by the Italian mathematician Leonardo Fibonacci (c. 1170 – c. 1240), also called Leonardo of Pisa.
Fibonacci numbers have many interesting properties and are widely used in mathematics. Natural patterns, such as the spiral growth of leaves on some trees, often exhibit the Fibonacci series. A corollary of this is the well-known fractal structures and the discovery of fractal geometry. --Gregorian Bivolaru

Reasons why I love it: The intimacy in this fic is off the charts. My eyes were glued to the screen the whole time, eating up every single word. Seriously, if you like wingfic and especially the aspect of wing grooming, this one is a must-read.
the slightest touch (and I feel weak) by SailorChibi
Pairing: Steve/Tony, Clint/Coulson Rating: T Words: 3,412 Tags: Oblivious Tony, Manhandling, Tooth-Rotting Fluff
Summary: “When you’re really tired or out of it, you show the underside of your wings to Steve,” Natasha says to Tony, ignoring Clint, who is doing an excellent impression of a fish. “We’ve all noticed it, but no one ever said anything because we didn’t think you knew. And judging from the look on your face, you didn’t.” “I don’t –” Natasha cuts him off with a raised hand. “Save it. I’m sure JARVIS has got video proof. You do it with Steve, Clint does it with Coulson, and both of them melt all over themselves when you two do it.” She stands, picking up her glass of wine. “So please, for the sanity of everyone else who has to live in this house, get over yourselves and just mate already.” She sweeps out of the room.
Reasons why I love it: Aaaah, not Tony and Clint being adorable little sweethearts who flirt subliminally with Steve and Coulson respectively, I can't! Steve's reaction is so fucking cute too, I just – agh, I can't handle this fluff, it's melting my heart. If you haven't read this one, you're definitely missing out!
Get Some Fresh Air (At Quad) by Sineala
Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: T Words: 1,206 Tags: First Meetings, Flirting, Fluff
Summary: Steve, newly arrived at the Academy, meets Tony, whose wings are like nothing he's ever seen before. He wants to know more. He wants everything. And luckily for him, the interest is mutual.
Reasons why I love it: Hot damn, the sexual tension is off the charts in this one. I love the blatant flirting and the choices that Sine made for what kinds of wings everyone has. This fic is great, and you should definitely give it a shot!
In the Shelter of Their Wings by newtypeshadow
Pairing: Steve/Bucky/Tony Rating: T Words: 4,036 Tags: Cabin Fic, Huddling For Warmth, Fluff and Hurt/Comfort
Summary: Outside, Tony's mind commands the storm protecting their cabin. Inside, boyfriends Bucky and Steve take care of Tony's body. It's not Tony's fault that care requires cuddling.
Reasons why I love it: Steve and Bucky are so gentle with Tony, it really makes me swoon. I love the whole backstory of Tony being a witch and how his magic works, and protective Stucky is always a treat. Plus, the ending is so sweet it makes me want to squeal into a pillow. I love this one, and I bet you will too!

🧑‍🎤 You're Gorgeous - Baby Bird (why can i see us with a pair of OCs - you with the model, me with the photographer)
@storyofwhoiam || Send a song title + 🧑‍🎤 and I'll give you an outline of an OC based on that song
Noel Evers
[18-30, unemployed/bar boy/model, genderqueer trans man, he/they, straight?, fc: Chella Man]
Tumblr media
Noel was born on december 25 1993 to Ruth and Robert Evers. As a child, he thought he lived in a normal, loving family, but now realizes that certain aspects of his life did not live up to that title. He grew up in the suburbs and played on his school's hockey team, something his parents had to fight for as he was the first "girl" on the team but, fairly soon after he joined, a handful of girls flocked to the team. He did his best to keep up with academics, fairly ever getting less than a passing grade, but hockey was where almost all of his focus lived as he believed he would grow up to join the NHL.
Those dreams were quickly shattered though when he came out as trans on his 18th birthday. They had such big plans of going off to college as themself and joining a college, but their parent's reacted nowhere near as well as they expected. They told to get out of their lives and that they would not be paying for college and wanted absolutely nothing to do with them going forward. The next few months of his life were spent on the road in a beat up old chevy truck that one of his friends let him have, struggling to find ways to pay for food or gas, until that broke down. From there, he hitchhiked all the way to the Canadian border to get as far away from his previous life as possible where he settled in Ontario.
A few days after making his way to Ontario, they found a somewhat steady job as a bar boy in a trashy bar where they didn't even make minimum wage sine they were being paid under the table. It kept them fed in a shitty motel though, so they were as thankful as they could be about the whole situation. Not even a week later though, they met a gorgeous photographer who took a liking to them. It started out as a few pictures, but they found themselves talking for hours after and a promise to get him work. He couldn't say no. He was ready to do anything for them. They were far too beautiful not to. The increase in his income certainly helped too.
The two of them didn't just stay photographer and client though, very quickly falling into bed with one another. Now, over ten years later, they live lavishly together in a high rise apartment and Noel works for some of the biggest names in the industry with that gorgeous photographer still taking their pictures.

Timeline Shifting: Great RPG Mechanics #RPGMechanics Week Five
I really dug the idea of Fate of Cthulhu. Then I actually read Fate of Cthulhu and it blew my mind. I’m an impulse ttrpg buyer– there are companies which I’m always going to check out new releases from and, if they even sort of match my interests, I will pick them up. Right now that’s Evil Hat, Sine Nomine, Modiphius, and Pelgrane, it used to be more Free League and Magpie.
So when I saw that EH was doing a Lovecraftian horror game set in the modern era while taking on the shitty stuff from Lovecraft, I was sold. So I backed it and promptly forgot about it. That’s not accidental– more often than not I put Kickstarted things out of my head so I don’t anxiously await them or wonder when they’re coming out. That’s allowed me to remain even tempered about several things I never expect to actually get like Project: Dark or Super Dungeon Explore 2nd Edition.
I try not to read anything about the game and, if I’ve backed the physical version, I don’t even look at the advance pdf about half the time. Such was the case for Fate of Cthulhu. Seriously. I just assumed it was a Fate version of Cthulhu Now or Delta Green and I was absolutely OK with that.
So when it came I actually realized what it was: Cthulhu meets The Terminator with characters coming back to stop one of an amazing set of richly conceived apocalypses. And I am absolutely on board for that– despite my general disinclination for time travel games and stories.
Fate of Cthulhu overcame my hesitation by building a structure which brilliantly blends Fate’s strengths with a concrete mechanism for changing the timeline. In brief each apocalypse has a major foe and series of events which led to their rise. At least one of the PC comes from that future and has been sent back to change things. But those characters aren’t armed with the full story. They only know pieces and fragments of history which have remained after the fall.
In mechanical terms they know of the basic shape of four key events. They know where and when these things happen and some of the major characters. But they have major gaps and no specifics on how it fits into the catastrophe. Your characters interact and impact those events. We play out scenes to figure out connections and try to stop the climactic event fifth event which is always the final rise. Mechanically these events each have four catalysts– represented by Fate aspects- each with a value.
In play two parallel timeline tracks exist: The Great Old One and The Resistance. Various things tick these boxes. For example the GOO track increases when a player invokes a corrupted aspect, a player marks corruption, or a GOO minion succeeds at a goal. On the other hand, the Resistance increases when players invoke timeline aspects and succeed, players foil a GOO minion, players make heroic last stands, or players change the timeline by dealing with an event.
When these tracks fill they create a Ripple and change the ratings of other events down the line. Players want to eventually change the ratings of the aspects for fifth and final event, to make dealing with that easier. They can also ripple other inciting events they haven’t yet dealt with in order to shape their task.
When I first saw the timeline, it confused me. But as we played and I understood how it worked, I came to dig it. I like that it begins with a concrete set up– events you have to deal with. I also like that the players don’t necessarily have to approach them in any order. There’s still timey-whimey nonsense, but that’s anchored by these key points in time. Evil Hat has provided a great set of apocalypses– most based on Lovecratian Great Old Ones– all executed smartly and compellingly. They’ve also included a couple of non-GOO challenges, like the Zombie Apocalypse.
The timeline set up is rich and fun to explore, but it's also skeletal enough that GMs can easily build their own. This is honestly what the best of the tools for Fate do. Simple structures with deep play value. One of the two Fate of Cthulhu series I played in reworked the foe to be the returning Faerie Queene. I can imagine a ton of other possibilities, like doing a superhero story with Kang taking over, Darkseid, Thanos, or another similar cosmic event.

Free string synthesizer sample plugin (Strykebrett)
Strykebrett is a free sample library for Decent Sampler featuring the Hohner / Logan String Melody II with some added features. All the sounds in the video are from a single instance of the plugin with no additional plugins or effects added.
User Interface: The user interface offers precise control over every aspect of the instrument and effects. Explore parameters to refine your sound, including control over the six drawbars, envelope, amplitude modulation with LFOs, highpass and lowpass filters, velocity/dynamics, oscillator drifting, and the immersive effects of ensemble, phaser, echo and reverb.
Mixer (Bass / Treble): Unleash the power of the six drawbars to shape your tone with precision. Each drawbar controls the amplitude of a specific octave or sound, offering you unparalleled control over the instrument's harmonic richness.
ADSR Envelope: Shape your sound precisely with the Attack, Decay, Sustain, and Release parameters. Whether you desire a punchy, staccato tone or a smooth, lingering ambiance, the ADSR envelope allows you to tailor the dynamics to your liking.
Low-frequency Oscillator (LFO): The Rate and Depth knobs enable you to modulate the amplitude of four of the drawbars with the desired depth and rate. The LFOs for the treble section has a sine waveform for smooth transitions. The LFO for the bass section has a sawtooth waveform for a rhythmic effect.
Voltage Controlled Filter (VCF): Strykebrett has a highpass filter and a lowpass filter. The highpass filter ranges from 20 Hz to 2000 Hz and the lowpass filter ranges from 200 Hz to 8000 Hz.
Oscillators:
Dyn: Turns on or off the velocity controlled amplitude
Drift: When enabled, each sample will have a slight pitch drift. The pitch drift for each sample is unique and independent. It's less pitch drift in the bass samples than the treble samples.
Ensemble:
O: 3 stereo choruses with different speed and depth
Acc: Turns the ensemble off
Solo: Fast stereo vibrato
Organ: A slow stereo chorus
Effects: The phaser is the built-in phaser from Decent Sampler. The echo and reverb effects are achieved using carefully crafted impulse responses. The echo effect employs a Fulltone Tube Tape Echo recorded twice for stereo, while the reverb effect draws from a Chase Bliss Audio & Meris CXM 1978 reverb pedal with a room setting.
Echo: Select from two distinctive echo options: the short echo, delivering a classic slapback effect, and the long echo, characterized by a slower decay and numerous repeats.
Reverb: You'll also find two reverb effects: the short reverb, evoking the intimacy of a small room, and the long reverb, enveloping your sound in the vastness of a spacious environment.

Sine we are talking parallels lets take ab Daella and Aemond
If fmo reader is alive long enough to watch her daughter grow up she would definitely notice how much daella is like her father, the loyalty to mom, hatred for dad, fearsome dragon rider with all the fucked up feelings. As much as daella can shit on aemond, she is her fathers daughter, a Targaryen through and through and if someone were to point out how much they are alike she would be SICK. And thinking of Aemond watching her grow up and be like "She just like me 🙂" "She just like me😔"
Reader just being like :( Obviously she loves her daughter no matter what but it must be sad to she her grow up to deeply resent a man thats shes exactly like.
I'd imagine Aemond thinking it was a punishment from the gods, to watch his daughter grow up to be so similar but instead of it being something they can bond over it is something that drives her away from him.
She her father's daughter and thats why she chooses her mother
Oh I love this because there is something so sad about in theory there being something nice about your children sharing aspects of you. But that is only nice when you actually like yourself.
“And thinking of Aemond watching her grow up and be like "She just like me 🙂" "She just like me😔"” I think Aemond would loath the idea of his kid growing up as angry as he was. It is something he still hasn’t shaken as an adult
Especially thinking about it from the stance of Aemond and reader somehow reconciling. It would really fuck him up if reader forgave him and daella didn’t. Cause while I have something fun planned for alaric, he is still just a baby. He doesn’t know what is going on like daella starts to pick up at this age. She spends large chunks of her formative years seeing her mom distraught or scared.
Fearsome dragon rider with all the fucked up feelings is a perfect way to describe our dad daughter duo
